Grisedale Lodge is a lovely traditional Lakeland house which dates back to Victorian times. Our idyllic location, close to the southern shores of Ullswater lake and at the heart of the Lake District, means you can enjoy the peace and quiet, whilst surrounded by inspiring views of the Lake District scenery. Ideal for a romantic break, a family holiday, some real peace and relaxation or an energetic walking, biking or sailing holiday. At Grisedale Lodge you have the choice of Bed and Breakfast in 3 comfortable double or twin rooms with some en-suite facilities and Lakeland views or a lovely Holiday Cottage in a self-catering single level cottage which sleeps up to 5 people. Grisedale Lodge is located midway between the Lakeland villages of Patterdale and Glenridding and is well located for exploring the Lake District National Park ~ Keswick, Windermere and Ambleside are within a 30 minute drive and Grasmere, Coniston, the Langdales and Borrowdale valley aren't much further away. Patterdale is also directly on Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk - a 192 mile adventure from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay. The backdrop to the Ullswater valley is the majestic fells that have always inspired poets, artists and walkers. From Grisedale Lodge you have easy access to Helvellyn, St Sunday Crag and Fairfield and the High Street range. There are also numerous valley and woodland walks. The lakeshore walk from Howtown was described by Wainwright as one of the finest in the Lake District - and the views are breathtaking. PS: We also have two holiday cottages in Glenridding.
